what industry experts say
our focus
I Wish I Had Known is our national campaign to provide a voice for healthcare consumers, because it is the universal comment spoken by people, their families and POAs after challenging healthcare experiences.
HC Aware provides:
- information for the public with industry insights by caring, veteran clinicians and executives;
- the means to understand how to actively partner with providers - with mutual clinician and patient accountability;
- the venue for individuals to have a voice, sharing their stories to learn and educate others - because data does not reflect the whole story;
- a source for finding care championing services for you or your family throughout the various care delivery environments; and,
- resources for the public to be aware of healthcare initiatives affecting them in easy to understand terms, education sessions and videos in patient engagement, and empowerment to champion quality care for themselves or advocating for loved ones.
Because people are facing:
- gross loss of quality - poor outcomes, unnecessary deaths, malfeasance
- out-of-control costs along with widespread corruption - est. only 25% of funds get to patient care
- government control with Medicare, Medicaid, Health and Human Services, WHO and HHS = CMS, NIH, FDA, etc.
- society conditioned on illness vs health, to be depressed
- control by pharmaceuticals, malfeasance care
- loss of personal Rights, lack of informed consent, lack of patient control regarding their own health data
- top-heavy inefficient administration, silos without coordination
- corruption and fraud throughout the industry
It is too late to learn how to change a tire, when broken down on an icy road, in a blizzard, unaware there is no spare tire or working jack: The same holds especially true regarding your healthcare, and the care of your loved ones.
We need to teach engagement to clinicians and the public: What it is; How to perform; What resources are available to assist - before loved ones are in crisis.

My mother is in a hospital in another state and has no idea what is going on. I have to stay here and work and take care of my family. Doctors are just coming and going. I did not know she would be a candidate to have case management-palliative care coverage for care coordination, keeping me continually updated and part of the care planning. |
