Healing Love for sale
22 (w) x 30 (h) Oil on Canvas, 2020
This painting shows a mother's love for her family. While carrying her child (8 months pregnant), she has cloth on her head for carrying the laundry, and fresh water in a pot with her right hand, along with a large package in her left arm. Many countries we visited carried laundry and packages over pieces of cloth on their heads, with perfect balance walking the roads and hills.

Healing Ripple not for sale
22 (w) x 30 (h) Oil on Canvas, 2020
Fourteen Red Cross tents were setup as our mobile clinic on an arid plateau in the mountains of Peru. I was overseeing the triage for 500 people a day for three days (1500 people total.) Everyone was so thankful, and the people didn't mind standing for up to four hours in the hot sun.
I named this Healing Ripple because our clinics were not about fixing or changing the world. Instead, it was to provide what care we could, changing ourselves, and hopefully creating ripple effects. My interpreter assisting with triage learned a great deal about clinical assessment and communication, which influenced her to go to nursing school. She became a nurse, continuing the ripples of care. |
